DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT
This week at LORDS, we remember and reflect on National Reconciliation Week , a special time when people all over Australia think about how we can walk together in friendship and respect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The theme this year is “Bridging Now to Next.” It reminds us that it’s important to keep working together and to build bridges from the past to a better future, where everyone is treated with fairness, kindness, and understanding. In the Bible, we hear these powerful words:
“What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”
– Micah 6:8
This means God wants us to do what’s right, show love and kindness, and walk humbly - always learning and growing.
At LORDS, we can live this out by being respectful, by listening to others’ stories, and by helping build a community where all people feel seen, heard, and valued.
Prayer:
Loving God,
Thank You for the stories, culture, and wisdom of First Nations peoples.
Help us to be good listeners, kind friends, and bridge-builders in our world.
Show us how to act with fairness and love as we learn together.
Amen.
